Dickson Commercial Group - Multifamily

We live in an amazing area filled with mountains and lakes. My wife Natalie and I can’t get enough camping in. You can find us somewhere in the Sierras.

I’m obsessed with real estate. I love it all, from marketing to architecture. My work allows me access to buildings where people live and play in a city community. I find that very cool and rewarding.

Any season is sports season. The University of Nevada is home for me, and cheering on the Wolf Pack is one of my passions.

I love to look at investment properties from the data side first. It’s just simpler that way. The most exciting part of my work is looking at 80 properties on one sheet and seeing the best one for our clients.

My job is to provide a fresh approach to all multifamily investment properties no matter the size to give our clients an edge in the marketplace.

I see multifamily brokerage as an area of real estate that vastly needs to be modernized. Every day I like to create new ways to make buying and selling multifamily investment properties more simple.

Since joining Dickson Commercial Group, I have built a multifamily investment team that would implement new ideas and strategies to bring success to our clients. In the last 6 years and after $100 million-plus in Reno sales, we are expanding our team and adding Las Vegas as a market for our services.

My experience on both the brokerage side and investment side gives me a unique perspective on creating an edge for our clients.

For Buyers – During my time on the investment side, I learned how effective it is to have a systematic process and access every property available to make the right acquisition. This is why I had to have MLS (residential) and Loopnet (commercial) access for both Reno and Las Vegas.

For Sellers On the brokerage side, I have learned what small and large multifamily owners lack in brokerage services. I think a large multifamily owner could benefit greatly from not hiring a large brokerage firm that only markets to an internal network. We can market and reach more prospects because we are not beholden to a national brokerage structure. Sadly it’s just not being done correctly. For small owners, I have learned that they need an investment property specialist. It’s frustrating when we see listings that don’t even have a cash flow analysis included in the offering.

Before joining DCG, I  was an acquisitions assistant vice president with American Homes 4 Rent, a national leader in single-family home rentals. During my two years with the AH4R, I operated on the front lines of growth and development while frequently traveling to more than 20 markets across the U.S. During that exciting time. I gained significant acquisitions experience as the company grew from 5,000 single family homes to more than 35,000 nationwide, almost entirely through single unit transactions. I was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. I launched my real estate career as operations manager for multiple private equity funds that focused on acquiring and renovating distressed residential assets in northern Nevada and northern California during the great recession.

10 Years of experience analyzing investment properties on both the investment side and brokerage side.
